My name is Pedro, though my work lives under the name Pedro Luz e Lobos. I am Portuguese, born in the interior of Portugal, and perhaps that is where my bond with nature was first shaped. I am drawn to the cold and to mountains, but also to cities and the quiet act of watching people live their everyday lives. My photography grows out of this tension, between remaining unseen and revealing what I observe, and the way I choose to see it.
I am a wedding photographer, and it is there that I feel most at home. The camera grants me a kind of superpower: the ability to move closer, to witness intimacy, and to photograph people without interrupting their moments. Portraiture has become an obsession. I studied Cinema and once worked in Norway as a guide and photographer of the Northern Lights. I have a soft spot for dogs and cats, and for lingering over cappuccinos.
At the same time, I am also someone who belongs to the city. I love getting lost in crowds, observing the way people move, how they walk, how they embrace each other, and how they look at those they care about.
Today, I live in Aveiro. I photograph weddings, fashion, and portraits, and above all, I use photography as a way to discover who I am.
